Teen Moment- Keeping us Humble

Recently when I had my blog page open, my nineteen year-old daughter took interest.

She innocently asked, “How many followers do you have?”

“Thirty eight.”

“On Facebook, that would make you a loser.”

“But look at how many people have viewed my blog!”

“That doesn’t mean they stayed on your blog. They could have just clicked by mistake.”

Ouch! Nothing like my teen’s comments to keep me grounded and humble.

  1. Ay, teenagers-mine have yet to see/read my blog. You keep on writing. It's the quality not the quantity.

  2. I know what you are going through. It seems that my teens are a little embarrassed that their 47 year old dad has a blog. I do believe that they privately read it. One day they will appreciate that I write about them and our lives but I hope that one day comes sooner rather than later.

So glad you stopped by my blog. I looked around in your blog and found it very fun and interesting! Keep on writing...you have alot of things to say and it's interesting to hear a guy's perspective on things. We need more great dads like yourself!

You're right...one day when our kids are older and they have the perspective that comes with maturity, they WILL appreciate so much. Including our writing! Especially because they will see the love in the reflections we share about them and our experiences as parents. :)
Blessings to you and our family!
